Raiffeisen Bank International reported consolidated profit of EUR 1,127 million for the first nine months of 2026, excluding Russia, according to the RBI release published on Tuesday, November 3. Profit increased 10 percent from the same period of 2025, keeping the Austrian bank on course for its updated full-year targets.
The core business excluding Russia delivered net interest income of EUR 3,347 million, up 7 percent year on year. Net fee and commission income rose 10 percent to EUR 1,624 million, while main revenues increased 8 percent to EUR 4,971 million. Customer loans grew 8 percent from the end of 2025 to EUR 109 billion.
Core Profit And Capital
Third-quarter consolidated profit excluding Russia was EUR 419 million, compared with EUR 499 million in the second quarter. Net interest income reached EUR 1,160 million in the quarter, up from EUR 1,111 million in the previous quarter, but higher administrative expenses and impairment losses weighed on the quarterly comparison.
The CET1 ratio stood at 15.4 percent at September 30, 2026, based on a scenario that assumes the deconsolidation of Raiffeisenbank Russia and the loss of its equity. The non-performing exposure ratio was 1.5 percent, while impairment losses on financial assets in the core group totaled EUR 159 million for the first nine months.
Romania Deal And Addiko
RBI completed the acquisition of 100 percent of Garanti BBVA Group Romania at the beginning of November. The transaction includes Garanti Bank Romania and leasing company Motoractive IFN and is consolidated into RBI's balance sheet from November 2. Management said the deal strengthens the group's regional position and expects integration into Raiffeisen Bank Romania in the second half of 2027.
The planned Addiko takeover also moved closer to completion. By 17:00 CET on November 2, RBI had received acceptances for 94.84 percent of Addiko shares. The 2026 outlook assumes regulatory approvals and settlement in the fourth quarter, with the transaction expected to create a one-off positive effect of about 310 basis points on consolidated return on equity.
Full-Year Targets Guide Investors
For 2026, RBI guides for net interest income above EUR 4.5 billion and net fee and commission income around EUR 2.2 billion. General administrative expenses are expected at around EUR 3.9 billion, with a cost-to-income ratio of about 55 percent and a provisioning ratio of up to 35 basis points.
Consolidated return on equity is expected at around 13 percent, while customer loans are expected to grow by around 9 percent excluding acquisitions. RBI projects a year-end CET1 ratio of around 14.5 percent in its Russia deconsolidation scenario. In the medium term, management targets return on equity of at least 13 percent excluding Russia, selected Polish foreign-currency provisions and legal costs, and Rasperia litigation costs.
