- OMV Petrom approved a higher 2026 investment budget, with most of the increase directed to Neptun Deep.
- The total estimated cost of Neptun Deep remains unchanged, while first gas is expected in the first half of 2027.
- Emma Delaney-McKnight joined the OMV Petrom supervisory board after taking over as OMV chief executive.
OMV Petrom shareholders approved a higher 2026 investment budget on Friday, November 6, adding a new development for investors in OMV. The decision raises spending by RON 969 million to RON 9.978 billion, with Neptun Deep absorbing most of the increase, according to ZF.
Petrom raises investment allocation
The approved budget compares with an initial plan of RON 9.009 billion. Exploration and production spending rises 22 percent to RON 6.706 billion, while the refining and marketing budget slips 1 percent to RON 2.455 billion. Gas and power spending increases 7 percent to RON 561 million.
The higher current-year allocation mainly reflects the timing of expenditure for Neptun Deep and exchange-rate effects. OMV Petrom said the project's total estimated cost remains about EUR 2 billion, limiting the immediate change to the spending schedule rather than the overall project estimate.
Leadership and project execution
Shareholders also appointed Emma Delaney-McKnight to the supervisory board until April 28, 2029. She became OMV chief executive on September 1, 2026, and takes the board seat previously held by Alfred Stern.
Neptun Deep is expected to deliver first gas in the first half of 2027. For OMV investors, the budget decision therefore raises near-term execution spending while keeping the project's strategic timetable in focus.
The real-time quote of OMV stock stood at EUR 71.65 on Lang & Schwarz at 17:43 CET on Friday, November 6, 2026, 0.35 percent above the Xetra close of Friday, November 6.
OMV's latest quarterly performance remains a supportive backdrop: the clean CCS Operating Result rose 68 percent year on year to EUR 2.117 billion in the third quarter, while Chemicals remained a drag on the group mix.
European investors are watching energy prices, refining margins and project execution through the ATX market environment.
