- Novo Nordisk's nine-month results on November 4 will test sales momentum across its obesity and diabetes portfolio.
- Analysts expect stronger obesity-treatment revenue but weaker sales for several established products.
- AASLD and ObesityWeek will add clinical evidence after the commercial update.
Novo Nordisk faces a commercial test before a dense run of medical presentations. The Danish drugmaker is due to publish its nine-month 2026 results on Wednesday, November 4, while research updates at AASLD and ObesityWeek will follow later in November. A Ad Hoc News analysis published on Tuesday, November 3, set out the key measures for investors.
Commercial test comes first
The report will show whether demand for newer obesity products can offset pressure on established medicines. Analysts expect the Wegovy pill to generate DKK 4.6 billion in third-quarter revenue, while injectable Wegovy sales are forecast to decline 2.1 percent. Ozempic revenue is expected to fall 13.7 percent to DKK 26.5 billion, with Rybelsus also forecast to decrease.
For the wider obesity-treatment business, analysts expect revenue of DKK 24.9 billion, an 18.2 percent increase. Adjusted operating profit is forecast at DKK 28.4 billion, alongside a gross margin of 80.2 percent. The 2026 revenue outlook remains the central management signal because a raised, unchanged or reduced forecast would point to different expectations for the business.
Research calendar follows
Novo Nordisk has announced twelve scientific contributions for the AASLD meeting in Denver from November 5 to 9. The programme includes semaglutide research and work on investigational Efruxifermin. ObesityWeek in Washington follows from November 14 to 17 with 26 contributions, including low-dose CagriSema results from REDEFINE 9, real-world Wegovy pill data and findings from STEP Young.
CagriSema remains investigational, so conference presentations do not establish approval or future revenue. The company also plans US list-price reductions from January 1, 2027, with Wegovy prices set to fall by around 50 percent and Ozempic prices by around 35 percent. Those planned changes are separate from reported selling prices and current revenue.
