FORTITUDE chip technology
Northrop Grumman said FORTITUDE processes large portions of the electromagnetic spectrum on a single gallium nitride chip. According to the company’s release, the technology delivers three times more power and 20 times better signal quality for applications including satellites, radar, GPS, electronic warfare and future 6G systems.
The company said the chip was previously known as the Super Lattice Castellated Field Effect Transistor. It added that FORTITUDE is designed to replace dozens of components, reduce weight and lower power consumption for commercial and defense markets.
