Results will test Switch 2 momentum
The upcoming release is the first half-year checkpoint since Nintendo raised the Switch 2 price in the United States to 499.99 US dollars on September 1. The report should provide a clearer view of demand after the launch phase and of sales during the July-to-September quarter.
In the April-to-June quarter, net sales fell 9.5 percent to 517.8 billion Japanese yen, while operating profit climbed 150.5 percent to 142.5 billion Japanese yen, according to Pogwire. Nintendo sold 3.82 million Switch 2 consoles in that quarter and had reached 23.68 million units since launch by June 30.
Forecast remains the central benchmark
Nintendo's full-year targets are 2.05 trillion Japanese yen in net sales, 370 billion Japanese yen in operating profit and 16.5 million Switch 2 consoles for the fiscal year ending March 2027. The half-year figures will show how much of those targets the company has achieved and whether management keeps its assumptions unchanged.
Pogwire cited first-half 2025 operating profit of 145.1 billion Japanese yen and Switch 2 sales of 10.36 million consoles as comparison points. The figures make the November release relevant for investors assessing both earnings quality and the pace of hardware adoption.
The broader Japanese market is tracked through the Nikkei 225.
