- Underlying revenue growth reached 4% in both the first nine months and the third quarter.
- Nexi kept its 2026 outlook for revenue, EBITDA and excess cash generation unchanged.
- Merchant Solutions showed signs of renewed momentum after pressure from banking contract changes.
Nexi reported revenue of 2.678 billion EUR for the first nine months of 2026 on Thursday, November 5, up 1.1% from the same period a year earlier. The Italian payments group also confirmed its full-year outlook, giving investors a clearer view of revenue momentum, cost control and cash generation.
The figures were reported by Il Sole 24 ORE from a company statement. EBITDA rose 0.3% to 1.400 billion EUR, while the EBITDA margin reached 52.3%, above the 51.8% consensus cited in the report. Nexi attributed the performance to strong cost discipline.
Merchant Payments Regain Momentum
Underlying revenue growth was 4% for the nine-month period and for the July-to-September quarter after excluding the known loss of certain banking clients following mergers and acquisitions, mainly in Italy, as well as other one-off items. The comparison gives investors a more favorable view of underlying activity than the reported growth rate alone.
Third-quarter revenue reached 942 million EUR, an increase of 1.3% year on year. Quarterly EBITDA was 530 million EUR, up 0.6%, and the margin expanded to 56.3%. Nexi said revenue growth was being supported by a re-acceleration in Merchant Solutions, a key area for the group's payment-terminal and merchant-services business.
Cash Generation Remains Central
Nexi reported net operating financial debt of approximately 5.0 billion EUR at the end of September. Leverage fell to 2.6 times EBITDA, or 2.4 times excluding the May dividend distribution and the completion of the Banca Popolare di Sondrio transaction in April.
For 2026, Nexi maintained its expectation that net revenue growth will be broadly in line with 2025. Absolute EBITDA is expected to remain broadly stable after strategic investments, while excess cash generation is projected at approximately 750 million EUR after investments and higher taxes. The group also expects to pay a dividend of 0.30 EUR per share, equivalent to approximately 350 million EUR in total, while maintaining investment-grade status.
Nexi stock traded at 4.69 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 12:22 CET on Thursday, November 5, 2026. Investors can follow the real-time quote of Nexi stock as the market assesses the combination of modest reported growth, stable earnings and renewed merchant-services momentum.
