- Newmont reported record third-quarter adjusted net income and strong free cash flow on October 22.
- Tanami Expansion 2 is progressing ahead of schedule, while Red Chris is moving toward an early-2027 investment decision.
- Higher 2027 development spending will increase execution and capital-allocation demands.
Newmont stock traded at 98.12 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 17:01 CET on Monday, November 2, 2026, up 2.08 percent from the 96.12-euro quote recorded at 11:32 CET in the latest relevant report. The move gives investors a fresh market signal while the company's operating outlook remains centered on Tanami Expansion 2 and Red Chris.
Newmont's October 22 results release reported third-quarter adjusted net income of 2.3 billion US dollars, or 2.20 US dollars per diluted share. The company generated 1.9 billion US dollars in free cash flow and maintained 2026 attributable gold production guidance of 5.26 million ounces.
Growth projects move toward decisions
Tanami Expansion 2 in Australia has completed shaft construction and is progressing ahead of schedule. Commercial production is now expected in the first half of 2027, which could improve underground productivity as Newmont moves beyond the production trough expected in 2026.
At Red Chris in British Columbia, the feasibility study is nearing completion. Newmont expects a full-funds investment decision in early 2027, subject to governance approval. The company owns 70 percent of the joint venture, whose project plan calls for development capital of 4.2 billion to 4.8 billion US dollars and targeted annual output of 275,000 to 325,000 gold ounces and 65,000 to 85,000 tonnes of copper during the 2035-to-2040 period.
Cash generation meets higher spending
Newmont expects attributable gold production to grow by a low-to-mid single-digit percentage in 2027. Development capital is expected to rise by approximately 500 million US dollars from 2026 levels as Red Chris and the Lihir Nearshore Barrier project advance.
For investors, the combination of strong current cash generation and a more capital-intensive project pipeline keeps execution, approvals, construction costs and metal prices in focus. The next milestones are fourth-quarter operating performance, Tanami commissioning and the Red Chris investment decision.
