- Third-quarter organic revenue growth was driven mainly by volume and mix rather than pricing.
- Emerging markets led regional growth, while Europe delivered positive volume and mix despite lower organic revenue.
- Mondelez agreed to acquire Undercover Snacks as it expands its better-for-you snacking portfolio.
- Management reaffirmed its 2026 revenue, adjusted earnings and free cash flow outlook.
Mondel?z International reported renewed volume growth for the third quarter ended September 30, 2026, and added a portfolio transaction to its growth agenda. In its October 29 earnings release, the snack maker said organic net revenue rose 2.1%, with volume and mix contributing 1.8 percentage points and pricing adding 0.3 percentage points.
What Has Changed Since Our Last Report
The latest development is Mondel?z's agreement to acquire Undercover Snacks, a maker of chocolate-covered and frosted quinoa crisps. The transaction broadens the company's presence in the permissible-indulgence segment and is expected to close in early 2027, subject to customary conditions and regulatory approval.
The new report also provides a fuller view of quarterly profitability. Reported diluted earnings per share increased to 1.02 US dollars, while adjusted earnings per share rose 5.5% on a constant-currency basis to 0.78 US dollars. The company attributed the adjusted improvement to operating gains and lower costs, while higher tax, interest and other expenses partly offset the benefit.
Emerging Markets Lead The Rebound
Emerging markets generated 4.1% organic growth, led by 7.7% growth in Asia, the Middle East and Africa and 6.9% growth in Latin America. Developed markets grew 0.8% organically. Europe declined 2.1% organically but delivered 1.6 percentage points of positive volume and mix, while North America grew 1.6% organically.
Management said continued investment in brands, innovation and distribution should support volume-led earnings growth. The company reaffirmed its 2026 outlook for organic net revenue growth of at least 2%, adjusted earnings per share growth of flat to 5% on a constant-currency basis and free cash flow of approximately 3 billion US dollars.
The real-time quote of Mondelez International stock was 58.53 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 16:30 CET on Monday, November 2, 2026.
For investors, the key question is whether renewed volume momentum can persist while the company absorbs ongoing commodity, trade and consumer-spending volatility.
The broader market backdrop remains relevant for global consumer-staples shares; investors can follow the S&P 500 market environment.
