Sales strength lifts 2026 outlook

On Thursday, October 29, Merck reported third-quarter 2026 sales of 18.1 billion US dollars, up 5 percent year over year. KEYTRUDA and KEYTRUDA QLEX generated 8.6 billion US dollars, while WINREVAIR sales rose 93 percent to 694 million US dollars.

Merck raised its full-year 2026 sales range to 66.8 billion to 67.3 billion US dollars from 66.3 billion to 67.3 billion previously. The company also lifted its non-GAAP earnings-per-share outlook to 2.77 to 2.82 US dollars from 2.66 to 2.76 US dollars. The updated range includes one-time charges linked to the Cidara and Terns acquisitions and a global license agreement with SciBrunch.

The Merck financial release said quarterly non-GAAP earnings per share were 2.49 US dollars, compared with 2.58 US dollars a year earlier. Both GAAP and non-GAAP figures included a 0.12 US dollar per-share charge related to SciBrunch.

Pipeline gains regulatory relevance

On Monday, October 26, Merck presented Phase 3 TroFuse-005 results for sacituzumab tirumotecan, or sac-TMT, in advanced or recurrent endometrial cancer. The treatment reduced the risk of death by 32 percent and the risk of disease progression or death by 41 percent versus physician's-choice chemotherapy.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration accepted the related biologics license application for priority review. Merck said the agency set a June 15, 2027, PDUFA date, giving the program a defined regulatory milestone.

The Merck oncology release reported median overall survival of 19.0 months with sac-TMT versus 12.1 months with chemotherapy. The data support the pipeline's role as Merck prepares for longer-term pressure on its KEYTRUDA franchise.
