- Medtronic reported six-month blood-pressure reductions in the SPYRAL AFFIRM study and received an expanded FDA labeling update for its Symplicity Spyral procedure.

Medtronic enters the week ahead with two developments that broaden the investor focus beyond its upcoming quarterly report. On November 3, the company said its SPYRAL AFFIRM post-approval study showed significant six-month blood-pressure reductions and that the US Food and Drug Administration had approved an expanded labeling update for the Symplicity Spyral renal denervation procedure. Medtronic said nearly nine in 10 patients experienced a clinical benefit at six months, according to its press release roundup.
The label expansion covers additional clinical data involving patients with isolated systolic hypertension, chronic kidney disease up to stage 3b and type 2 diabetes. For investors, the update strengthens the clinical case for a newer growth area, while future procedure volumes and reimbursement will determine its commercial contribution.
Next results set for November 24
Medtronic said on November 4 that it will release fiscal second-quarter 2027 results on Tuesday, November 24. The quarter ended Friday, October 30, and the company plans to issue its financial release at 5:45 a.m. Central Time before a webcast at 6:30 a.m. Central Time, according to the company announcement. The report will show whether the portfolio transition is translating into revenue growth, margins and management guidance.
Medtronic also announced a partnership with the Michael J. Fox Foundation to expand education about deep brain stimulation for people with Parkinson's disease. The initiative adds a patient-awareness component to the company's neuromodulation business.
