Max Health stock hits a 52-week low as margins face pressure
Published on 10/07/2026 at 10:31 | Editorial responsibility: Rafael Müller, Editor-in-Chief AD HOC NEWSMax Health stock was trading at INR 903 on the NSE on October 7, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. IST, only INR 11.40 above its 52-week low of INR 891.60. The weak chart contrasts with Q1 FY27 revenue growth and a still-positive expansion case for Max Healthcare Institute.
Q1 revenue rose 15.2 percent
According to DSIJ, Max Healthcare reported consolidated Q1 FY27 revenue of INR 28,350 million, up 15.2 percent year over year and 11.6 percent quarter over quarter. EBITDA increased 14.8 percent to INR 7,050 million, while adjusted net profit rose 3.3 percent to INR 3,790 million.
The same Q1 FY27 report put EBITDA margin at 24.9 percent, below 26.8 percent in Q4 FY26. Oncology was the main pressure point, with its share of inpatient revenue falling to 22 percent from 26 percent after selected chemotherapy drugs for institutional patients were discontinued.
Bed additions support the case
Max Healthcare describes a network of 21 healthcare facilities with more than 6,100 beds across northern and central India, alongside Max@Home and Max Lab. The company is using new capacity to build revenue, but the Q1 margin comparison shows that commissioned beds and integration costs can arrive before full utilization.
According to DSIJ, Anand Rathi Research maintained a Buy rating and an INR 1,220 price target in its August 17, 2026 result update. The broker cited the ramp-up of Max Smart and Max Vaishali, brownfield additions and more than 2,000 planned beds as growth drivers.
Stock sits near yearly low
At INR 903, the stock was 26.1 percent below its 52-week high of INR 1,221.90 and 1.3 percent above its 52-week low of INR 891.60 on October 7, 2026. The session range was INR 891.60 to INR 910, with volume of 1,333,336 shares and a market capitalization of INR 878.9 billion.
The share price was up 0.06 percent from the prior close of INR 902.50 at the quoted time. For investors, the central tension is clear: Q1 revenue and EBITDA expanded at double-digit rates, while the margin slipped sequentially and the stock remained close to its yearly floor.
