Growth Meets Cash Flow Pressure

Magyar Telekom reported stronger operating performance for the third quarter and first nine months of 2026 on November 4. The company said service demand, the July fee adjustment and higher IT and equipment sales supported the result.

The Magyar Telekom investor release reported 7.4 percent year-on-year growth in total revenue during the third quarter. Service revenue increased 5.2 percent, gross profit advanced 6.0 percent and EBITDA after leases rose 6.6 percent. Adjusted net income grew 11.3 percent as stronger operating earnings more than offset higher financial expenses.

Cash Conversion Remains The Pressure Point

Free cash flow excluding spectrum licenses reached HUF 146.3 billion in the first nine months, down 18.7 percent from the prior-year period. Magyar Telekom attributed the decline to higher working-capital requirements, increased capital expenditure and income-tax payments, alongside the absence of proceeds from subsidiary sales recorded in the prior-year period.

Capital expenditure after leases, excluding spectrum licenses, increased 5.2 percent in the third quarter. For investors, the contrast between earnings growth and weaker cash generation makes the pace of investment and working-capital normalization important for future financial flexibility.

Customer Service Adds A Strategic Layer

Chief Executive Tibor Rékasi said the subscriber base continued to expand and that the July fee adjustment supported average revenue per user. The company has also initiated a comprehensive transformation of customer-service operations, with priorities including greater agility, improved service quality and more personalized customer offers.

The real-time quote of Magyar Telekom stock was 7.99 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 17:05 CET on Friday, November 6, 2026. That was 1.27 percent above the 7.89-euro quote recorded in the previous report on Thursday, November 5, at 18:09 CET.
