- Lowe's reduced its 2026 sales outlook to 92 billion US dollars as softer demand and housing weakness weigh on builder-focused operations.
- The November 18 earnings release will test demand from professional customers, commercial projects and digital channels.
- Investors will also watch margin progress and leverage after the Foundation Building Materials and Artisan Design Group acquisitions.
Lowe's Companies has lowered its 2026 sales outlook to 92 billion US dollars as softer consumer demand and a weak housing market weigh on its builder-focused supply operations, according to Simply Wall St. The revised outlook puts execution, margins and demand from professional customers at the center of the investment case.
Lowe's stock traded at 207.20 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 14:16:36 CET on Thursday, November 5, 2026.
Demand And Margin Remain In Focus
The lower sales view raises the pressure on Lowe's to offset weaker big-ticket projects through its Pro business, digital channels, productivity programs and mix management. Simply Wall St said the company is relying on those areas while housing turnover and discretionary remodeling remain restrained.
The upcoming third-quarter report on November 18 will be the first detailed update since the outlook reset. Investors are likely to focus on comparable sales, commercial mix, digital contribution and whether operating-margin and adjusted-earnings guidance can remain at the lower end of the previous range.
The Foundation Building Materials and Artisan Design Group acquisitions add a balance-sheet and integration test. The analysis cited adjusted debt to EBITDA of about 3.0 times, against a company goal of 2.75 times by mid-2027. Progress in cash generation and margin recovery could support the acquisition strategy, while continued housing weakness would increase execution risk.
Simply Wall St's longer-term narrative points to 99.5 billion US dollars in revenue and 7.8 billion US dollars in earnings by 2029, based on analyst forecasts. Those estimates remain sensitive to the recovery in home-improvement demand and the company's ability to expand without sacrificing profitability.
