Quarterly Growth Holds Firm
According to Logitech's investor release, sales reached 1.22 billion US dollars in the three months ended September 30, up 3 percent in US dollars and 2 percent in constant currency from the year-earlier quarter. GAAP operating income rose 5 percent to 201 million US dollars, while GAAP diluted earnings per share increased 9 percent to 1.25 US dollars.
Non-GAAP operating income was 231 million US dollars, compared with 230 million US dollars a year earlier. Non-GAAP diluted earnings per share rose to 1.51 US dollars from 1.45 US dollars. The adjusted figure excludes share-based compensation, amortization, acquisition-related costs, restructuring charges, investment gains or losses and certain tax effects, so investors should read it alongside the GAAP result.
Gross margin provided the clearest operating support. GAAP gross margin rose to 44.9 percent from 43.4 percent, while non-GAAP gross margin reached 45.2 percent from 43.8 percent. Logitech said growth in the Americas, Video Collaboration and Gaming supported the top line, while chief executive Hanneke Faber pointed to operational discipline and 19 new products launched for the holiday quarter.
Supplier Incident Shapes Outlook
Logitech said a semiconductor supplier's manufacturing facility was closed after a serious incident at the end of June. The facility reopened in September and is ramping production, but capacity remains below Logitech's needs. Management expects full production by the end of the calendar year and expects the effect on sales to be largely resolved by the fourth quarter.
For the third quarter of fiscal 2027, Logitech expects sales of 1.36 billion to 1.43 billion US dollars. That corresponds to a year-over-year change of minus 4 percent to plus 1 percent in US dollars, or minus 5 percent to zero in constant currency. The range includes an estimated 70 million to 80 million US dollar impact from the supplier incident. Non-GAAP operating income is expected at 220 million to 255 million US dollars.
Cash flow from operations was 164 million US dollars, and cash at the quarter end stood at 1.51 billion US dollars. Logitech returned 406 million US dollars to shareholders through its annual dividend and share repurchases, reinforcing the capital-return element of the investment case while supply execution remains the immediate test.
