L'Oréal's nine-month sales update on Thursday, October 22, showed broad-based expansion across the beauty group's portfolio. Sales reached 35.33 billion euros in the first nine months, up 7.7 percent on a reported basis and 6.9 percent like-for-like, according to L'Oréal Finance.

Broad-based sales momentum

Third-quarter sales rose 11.9 percent on a reported basis to 11.56 billion euros. Adjusted like-for-like growth reached 7.7 percent, ahead of the 5.9 percent consensus cited by Reuters.

All four divisions expanded during the nine-month period. Professional Products led with adjusted like-for-like growth of 12.3 percent, followed by Dermatological Beauty at 11.6 percent. L'Oréal Luxe grew 5.8 percent, while Consumer Products advanced 4.2 percent.

Regional growth was similarly broad. SAPMENA-SSA led with adjusted like-for-like growth of 15.8 percent, while Europe grew 7.0 percent and North America 6.3 percent. E-commerce sales increased around 17 percent, outpacing the online market.

Management keeps growth focus

Chief Executive Nicolas Hieronimus said the first nine months supported his conviction that L'Oréal would deliver another year of sales and profit growth. The company pointed to fragrances and haircare as continuing growth engines, with skincare gaining momentum.

The release also reported the closing of the acquisition of a majority stake in Innovist, a digital-first Indian personal-care house of brands. The transaction strengthens L'Oréal's position in India's expanding beauty market, while the group continues to invest in innovation, digital channels and regional expansion.
