- Kontron reported lower nine-month revenue and operating cash flow after memory-chip supply constraints delayed deliveries.
- Adjusted EBITDA increased despite restructuring charges and prior-year effects from the COM deconsolidation.
- Management retained its 2026 revenue and EBITDA targets, with most delayed products expected to ship in the fourth quarter.
Kontron AG reported weaker revenue and operating cash flow for the first nine months of 2026 on Thursday, November 5, while confirming its full-year targets. The figures were released at 07:00 CET/CEST in an EQS News release.
Revenue And Cash Flow Under Pressure
Revenue from January through September reached 1,102.9 million euros, compared with 1,181.9 million euros a year earlier. On an adjusted basis that removes deconsolidations, the prior-year comparison was 1,123.6 million euros. Kontron said memory-chip shortages increased inventories and held back shipments.
Operating cash flow fell to 4.3 million euros from 49.7 million euros in the prior-year period. The company said products and chips worth 68.6 million euros had not yet been delivered by the end of September, with most shipments expected in the fourth quarter.
Adjusted Profit Holds Up
Reported EBITDA was 125.9 million euros, down from 193.6 million euros. Adjusted EBITDA rose to 151.0 million euros from 140.1 million euros. The comparison was affected by 25.1 million euros of restructuring costs in 2026 and one-off income from the COM deconsolidation in the prior year.
Net income attributable to shareholders declined to 52.7 million euros from 110.8 million euros. Kontron said it completed the GreenTec restructuring in the third quarter and expects annual cost savings of more than 30 million euros, with the measures taking full effect from 2027.
Guidance Depends On Fourth Quarter
Management retained its 2026 revenue target of around 1.6 billion euros and expects EBITDA of around 200 million euros after restructuring costs, or 225 million euros before those one-off expenses. The company also cautioned that settlement talks with Volkswagen could lead to an impairment of intangible assets of up to 25 million euros, without affecting EBITDA or cash flow.
The order backlog reached 2,751.9 million euros at September 30, up from 2,495.3 million euros at the end of 2025. A nine-month book-to-bill ratio of 1.23 points to solid demand, but the near-term investment case depends on converting delayed deliveries into fourth-quarter revenue and cash flow.
