KLA Corporation stock remains in focus after record quarterly revenue and a stronger outlook. Supply constraints and memory costs remain key risks.

AI demand and 2027 setup

  • KLA posted record fiscal first-quarter revenue as AI infrastructure and advanced packaging lifted demand for process-control equipment.
  • Management expects December-quarter revenue of about USD 4.7 billion and sees the wafer-equipment market exceeding USD 200 billion in 2027.
  • Supply constraints, memory costs and customer facility delays remain key risks to the growth outlook.

KLA Corporation stock traded at 137.91 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 13:39 CET on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, 0.93 percent below the Xetra close of 139.20 euros on Tuesday, November 3. The semiconductor equipment maker is drawing investor attention after a record fiscal first quarter and an outlook that points to continued AI-related demand.

KLA reported fiscal 2027 first-quarter results for the period ended September 30 on October 28. According to the company disclosure reproduced by Slicast, revenue reached USD 4.14 billion, up 28.9 percent from the year-earlier quarter. GAAP diluted earnings were USD 1.18 per share, while non-GAAP diluted earnings came to USD 1.22. Both measures were above the midpoint of KLA's guidance range.

Record quarter raises expectations

Revenue increased 13 percent from the preceding quarter, while operating margin reached 46.1 percent, according to the earnings-call transcript published by Investing.com. That was the first time KLA said its operating margin had exceeded 46 percent. Gross margin was 62.7 percent and free cash flow amounted to USD 1.34 billion.

Chief Executive Rick Wallace said demand was supported by leading-edge foundry and logic investment connected to AI infrastructure, as well as higher process-control intensity in advanced devices and packaging. Services revenue rose 14 percent year over year to about USD 850 million, supported by a larger installed base and high equipment utilization.

The results also show why KLA's outlook is important for investors in semiconductor manufacturing equipment. A strong quarter alone does not establish a durable cycle, but the combination of higher revenue, record profitability and rising customer engagement gives the company more visibility into the next several quarters.

AI and packaging drive outlook

For the fiscal second quarter ending in December, KLA guided to revenue of approximately USD 4.7 billion, plus or minus USD 200 million. Non-GAAP diluted earnings are expected at USD 1.44, plus or minus USD 0.11, while gross margin is forecast at 62.5 percent, plus or minus one percentage point.

Yahoo Finance reported that KLA expects advanced-packaging process-control revenue to reach about USD 1.1 billion in calendar 2026, representing growth of more than 70 percent. Management also expects foundry and logic applications to account for about 60 percent of semiconductor process-control revenue in the December quarter, with memory contributing roughly 40 percent.

KLA said the wafer-equipment market, including advanced packaging, should reach the mid-USD 150 billion range in 2026 and exceed USD 200 billion in 2027. Management expects sequential growth to continue, helped by new fab projects, leading-edge logic investment, DRAM and high-bandwidth-memory demand, and more complex packaging requirements.

The outlook is not without pressure points. KLA said optical components remain a supply-chain bottleneck and that lead times average about 12 months for some products. Higher memory costs are also weighing on gross margin, while delays in customer facilities could affect the timing of equipment shipments and revenue recognition. China is expected to grow more slowly than the rest of the business.
