- Citi has raised its view on KION as a recovery in industrial trucks comes into focus.
- Recent results showed strong automation growth but weaker order momentum in Industrial Trucks and Services.
- KION has lowered its 2026 outlook and expects its double-digit adjusted EBIT margin target only after 2027.
Citi has raised its view on KION as a recovery in industrial trucks comes into focus, according to an Investing.com report listed on Yahoo Finance on Friday, November 6, 2026. The analyst action gives investors a more constructive counterpoint to the recent pressure on the company's truck operations.
KION's latest quarterly update showed a mixed operating picture. According to Forkliftaction News, third-quarter revenue rose 4.8 percent year on year to about EUR 2.8 billion. Intelligent Automation Solutions revenue increased 15.8 percent to EUR 890 million, while Industrial Trucks and Services revenue grew only 0.6 percent to EUR 1.96 billion.
Automation Strength, Truck-Cycle Risk
The main constraint remains demand rather than the current revenue base. Total third-quarter order intake fell 0.9 percent to EUR 2.65 billion, and order intake for the first nine months declined 4.9 percent to EUR 8.44 billion. KION said Industrial Trucks and Services had not kept pace with a growing material-handling market, particularly in value and economy trucks.
KION has consequently reduced its 2026 revenue outlook to EUR 11.45 billion to EUR 11.75 billion. The group also said its medium-term target of a double-digit adjusted EBIT margin would be reached only after 2027. Citi's more positive truck view therefore points to a possible future recovery, but it does not remove the near-term execution risk reflected in the lower guidance.
KION describes material handling and intralogistics as its core investment focus on its investor-relations page. The company is also preparing a separate Financial Services segment for most leasing activities from the first quarter of 2027, alongside reporting changes linked to IFRS 18.
KION stock traded at EUR 33.73 on Lang & Schwarz at 11:36 CET on Friday, November 6, 2026, 0.91 percent below the Xetra close of EUR 34.04 on Thursday, November 5.
