Kinder Morgan entered its dividend week on Monday, November 2, as the record date for its third-quarter cash distribution. The company announced the payment alongside its third-quarter results on October 21 in a Kinder Morgan investor release.
The board approved a cash distribution for shareholders of record as of the close of business on November 2, with payment scheduled for November 16. The company said the quarterly payout was 2 percent higher than in the third quarter of 2025. The record-date milestone gives income-focused investors a defined near-term calendar event, while the payment date remains the next key date for eligible holders.
Record quarter supports expansion plans
Kinder Morgan reported third-quarter net income attributable to the company of 764 million US dollars, compared with 628 million US dollars a year earlier. Adjusted net income attributable to Kinder Morgan reached 792 million US dollars, up 22 percent from the prior-year quarter.
Adjusted EBITDA rose 9 percent to 2.18 billion US dollars. Earnings per share and adjusted earnings per share both increased 21 percent year over year to 0.34 US dollars and 0.35 US dollars, respectively. Revenue was 4.531 billion US dollars, compared with 4.146 billion US dollars in the third quarter of 2025.
The company also expanded its project backlog to 14.4 billion US dollars, including 13.2 billion US dollars tied to natural gas projects. Management highlighted rising liquefied natural gas exports, power demand and industrial activity as drivers for additional infrastructure investment. More than 75 percent of the total backlog is associated with power generation and local distribution company demand.
2026 outlook remains above budget
Kinder Morgan said it expects to finish 2026 more than 6 percent above its budget on an adjusted EBITDA basis and more than 13 percent above budget on an adjusted EPS basis. It also expects a year-end net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA ratio of 3.6 times, better than its budgeted 3.8 times.
The outlook depends on project execution, permits and customer commitments. Two major natural gas projects, Southeast Connector and Permian Link, are expected to begin service in 2030 in phases, subject to regulatory approvals. Their long-term transportation agreements could extend the earnings visibility of the pipeline portfolio, although construction timing and capital requirements remain important variables.
