- Kering raised its 2026 net store-closure target after exceeding the original objective during the first nine months.
- Gucci remained the main pressure point, while several other Houses delivered stronger comparable growth.
- Management reaffirmed its objective of improving recurring operating margin in 2026.
Kering stock traded at 192.55 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 17:45 CET on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, 0.26 percent above the Xetra close of Wednesday, November 4. The stock is 5.90 percent above the 181.82-euro quote cited in the previous Kering report on November 3.
Kering's latest operational update points to a deeper retail reset as the luxury group works through weak traffic and a difficult recovery at Gucci. In its October 22 revenue release, the company said it had completed 105 net store closures in the first nine months of 2026, including 128 closures and 23 openings.
Gucci remains the central turnaround test
The group now plans at least 125 net closures for the full year, after exceeding its initial objective of 100 ahead of schedule. Kering ended the third quarter with revenue of 3,345 million euros, stable on a reported basis and down 1 percent on a comparable basis year on year.
Gucci generated 1,291 million euros of third-quarter revenue, down 6 percent on a comparable basis. Directly operated retail sales at the brand declined 9 percent on that basis, with lower traffic weighing particularly on Asia Pacific, Mainland China and Japan.
The wider portfolio offered some support. Kering Jewelry revenue rose 11 percent on a comparable basis, while Kering Eyewear increased 4 percent. Excluding Gucci, directly operated retail sales in the Fashion and Leather Goods segment rose 2 percent on a comparable basis, led by Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta and Brioni.
Kering said traffic remained the main constraint, while conversion, average price and average ticket stayed supportive across most Houses. Management also reaffirmed its objective of improving recurring operating margin in 2026 while continuing to invest in brand desirability.
