- Jungheinrich has begun selling the EFG 5 series for heavy-duty electric applications.
- The EFG 2/2i and 3/3i production launch in Moosburg adds a compact 48-volt range to the portfolio.
- The next quarterly update is scheduled for November 10, 2026.
Jungheinrich has expanded its electric forklift program with the start of customer orders for the EFG 5 series on November 1, 2026. The company announced the development in its press release dated November 2.
The new series covers electric counterbalance forklifts with load capacities from 4.0 to 5.0 tonnes. Jungheinrich is targeting heavy-duty users in sectors including building materials, beverages and automotive manufacturing, where internal-combustion forklifts remain common. The company says the EFG 5 can deliver up to 15 percent higher handling performance through revised drive and lift technology.
New models broaden electric offering
The EFG 5 launch follows the October start of production for the EFG 2/2i and 3/3i at Jungheinrich's Moosburg plant. According to the company's October 27 release, the first EFG 320i left the production line on October 26. The smaller models address the 48-volt segment and are designed for compact warehouses, while the EFG 5 extends the electric range toward intensive heavy-duty use.
The rollout is an operational milestone rather than evidence of a financial contribution already achieved. Demand, order intake and margins will remain central to the next assessment of the business. Jungheinrich is scheduled to publish its quarterly update for the period ended September 30 on November 10, 2026.
