- ACR Convergence 2026 runs through November 11, with Johnson & Johnson presenting 23 nipocalimab abstracts.
- The company is advancing two Phase 3 studies in Sjögren's disease after Phase 2 findings.
- Patient priorities put mouth dryness, fatigue and eye dryness at the center of the program.
Johnson & Johnson will keep investors focused on nipocalimab as ACR Convergence 2026 continues in Orlando through Wednesday, November 11. In a company announcement published Saturday, November 7, Johnson & Johnson said 23 abstracts on the investigational medicine would be presented at the American College of Rheumatology meeting.
The program targets Sjögren's disease, a chronic autoantibody-driven condition that affects approximately four million people worldwide, according to the company. Johnson & Johnson is developing nipocalimab as a potential treatment for the systemic disease, for which no therapies are currently approved to address its underlying and systemic nature.
Patient priorities shape the next trial
The new findings come from exit interviews with participants in the Phase 2 DAHLIAS study. Mouth dryness was the symptom most often prioritized for improvement and was cited by 96 percent of those interviewed. Fatigue followed at 92 percent, while eye dryness was reported by 90 percent.
The interview analysis included 49 of 163 study participants who completed the assessment after the 24-week treatment period. The company said the findings complement earlier Phase 2 results: at least a 50 percent improvement in objective salivary flow was observed in 33 percent of patients receiving 15 milligrams per kilogram of nipocalimab, compared with 16 percent on placebo.
Johnson & Johnson has initiated the Phase 3 DAFFODIL study after the positive Phase 2 DAHLIAS results and is evaluating symptoms, pain, fatigue, quality of life and patient-perceived improvement. A second Phase 3 study is also ongoing. For investors, the next development step is therefore clinical execution rather than a near-term commercial launch.
