Buyback program
The program is intended to complete IAG’s previously announced EUR 1,500.00 million return of excess cash to shareholders. It is scheduled to run from October 5, 2026, through February 26, 2027, unless ended earlier. The company said it may purchase up to 210,000,000 ordinary shares, equivalent to approximately 4.55 percent of its issued share capital as of October 2, 2026. The shares will be purchased on the London Stock Exchange and the Spanish Stock Exchanges.
Up to EUR 374.283 million is allocated to purchases from market participants and EUR 126.00 million to purchases from Qatar Airways. Shares acquired under the program are intended to be held in treasury pending proposed cancellation, which was approved at the company’s June 18, 2026, annual general meeting.
