- HUGO BOSS now expects currency-adjusted 2026 sales to decline in the high single-digit percentage range.
- Management forecasts 2026 EBIT of EUR 250 million to EUR 300 million as fourth-quarter demand remains volatile.
- Gross-margin gains and lower inventories provide operational support while the CLAIM 5 TOUCHDOWN strategy continues.
HUGO BOSS updated its full-year 2026 outlook on Wednesday, November 4, as weaker consumer demand and a strategic realignment weighed on the third quarter. The company now expects currency-adjusted group sales to decline in the high single-digit percentage range and EBIT to range between EUR 250 million and EUR 300 million, according to the WebWire release.
Margin gains offset weaker demand
The revised outlook reflects softer fourth-quarter demand assumptions, elevated market uncertainty and higher non-cash depreciation and amortization expenses for IT assets. HUGO BOSS also expects trade net working capital at about 21 percent of group sales and capital expenditure between 4 percent and 5 percent of sales.
In the third quarter, currency-adjusted group sales fell 5 percent. Gross margin increased by 220 basis points to 63.3 percent as the CLAIM 5 TOUCHDOWN program supported pricing and operating efficiency. EBIT declined to EUR 81 million, while free cash flow before leases rose to EUR 155 million as inventories fell 14 percent year over year.
What changed since the last report
The latest update adds a clearer operating frame to the earlier outlook warning: management expects demand to remain volatile through the fourth quarter, but says its strategic direction remains unchanged. The combination of lower sales expectations and better gross-margin execution leaves investors focused on whether efficiency gains can protect cash generation during the realignment.
