- Foxconn presented new reference vehicles for under-penetrated electric-vehicle markets at its annual technology event.
- The company is positioning contract design and manufacturing services as a route to faster automotive development.
- The next scheduled financial milestone is Hon Hai's third-quarter earnings report on November 12, 2026.
Foxconn unveiled three new reference electric vehicles at Hon Hai Tech Day 2026 in Taipei on Friday, October 30, according to a Foxconn press release. The presentation adds a fresh product signal for Hon Hai as it builds an automotive business alongside its established electronics manufacturing operations.
The real-time quote of Hon Hai stock was 13.45 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 3:10 p.m. CET on Friday, October 30, 2026. That was 1.47 percent below the 13.65-euro reference in the previous report published on October 29. This comparison is separate from a regular-session exchange close.
New models target automotive niches
The new line-up comprises the MODEL A+ and MODEL K+ SUVs and the MODEL K compact truck. Foxconn said the vehicles target under-penetrated markets with cost-competitive options and flexible design platforms, taking its reference EV range to 12 models.
The MODEL A+ is aimed at the B-segment SUV market and uses in-wheel motor technology with selectable electrical architecture. Foxconn positions the MODEL K+ as a flexible lifestyle SUV for younger customers, while the MODEL K is designed for the kei-class commercial truck segment, including last-mile and mobility-service applications.
Contract manufacturing remains central
Foxconn presented the vehicles through its contract design and manufacturing services model rather than as a consumer-brand launch. Chief Strategy Officer for EV Jun Seki said the reference vehicles are intended to help customers and partners accelerate time to market, cost and technology deployment.
The event also featured battery development from materials and cells to packs and battery-management systems, along with electrical architecture and powertrains for two- and three-wheel vehicles. Honda R&D and Mitsubishi Electric Mobility separately discussed their electromobility work with Foxconn at the event.
For investors, the new vehicles provide evidence of product expansion, but they do not by themselves establish future revenue or margin contribution. The next scheduled financial test is Hon Hai's third-quarter earnings report on November 12, 2026.
Taiwan's broader equity market can be followed through the TAIEX market theme.
