Foxconn used its annual technology event in Taipei on Friday, October 30, to broaden its electric-vehicle platform and reinforce its focus on artificial intelligence infrastructure. The developments give investors two strategic themes to watch as the electronics manufacturer seeks further growth beyond traditional consumer devices.

Foxconn widens automotive platform

Foxconn unveiled three reference electric vehicles at Hon Hai Tech Day 2026: the SUV models A+ and K+ and the compact K truck. In its official announcement, the company said the vehicles raise its reference range to 12 models and are designed for automotive customers using Foxconn's contract design and manufacturing services.

The A+ targets the B-segment SUV market, while the K+ is positioned as a lifestyle SUV and the K as a kei-class commercial truck for last-mile and mobility applications. Foxconn said it is pursuing partnerships with automakers rather than creating its own consumer vehicle brand.

AI infrastructure remains central

Chairman Young Liu said Hon Hai expects revenue to grow by a double-digit percentage next year, driven by AI data-center demand. The Taipei Times also reported that Foxconn plans to add capacity to six Houston factory buildings and presented an Nvidia DSX POD modular data-center design.

Reuters reported on October 30 that Foxconn is working on a possible new tie-up with OpenAI, although details remain limited. Liu also said the company does not see an AI bubble and expects continued double-digit growth next year. Reuters noted that cloud and networking products, including AI servers, accounted for 51 percent of second-quarter revenue, according to company figures.
