Holcim raised its full-year 2026 earnings outlook on October 23 after a stronger third quarter, with recurring EBIT and sales advancing at double-digit rates in Swiss francs. The building materials group now expects organic recurring EBIT growth of 10 to 12 percent, compared with its previous target of about 10 percent.

Holcim stock traded at EUR 75.77 on Lang & Schwarz at 10:06 CET on Monday, November 2, 2026. The quote is based on the company's Swiss franc-denominated business and is shown here as a euro trading price.

Third-quarter momentum accelerates

Third-quarter net sales rose 15.5 percent to CHF 4.662 billion from CHF 4.036 billion a year earlier. Recurring EBIT increased 16.8 percent to CHF 976 million from CHF 836 million, while the recurring EBIT margin expanded to 20.9 percent from 20.7 percent.

For the first nine months, net sales reached CHF 12.586 billion, up 5.2 percent organically and 5.7 percent in reported terms. Recurring EBIT grew 6.1 percent to CHF 2.414 billion, with organic growth of 11.8 percent. The nine-month recurring EBIT margin was 19.2 percent, 10 basis points above the prior-year period.

The figures were published in Holcim's Q3 2026 results release. CEO Miljan Gutovic attributed the performance to increased demand for higher-value products, strict cost discipline and operational execution.

Guidance points to further margin growth

Holcim retained its expectation for about 5 percent organic sales growth in 2026 and expects the recurring EBIT margin to expand further. Free cash flow is projected at around CHF 2 billion, while recycled construction and demolition materials are expected to grow by more than 20 percent.

The portfolio mix also supported the quarter. Building Materials generated CHF 3.216 billion in sales, up 8.9 percent, while Building Solutions reached CHF 1.920 billion, up 27.1 percent. The company said demand for sustainable products continued to rise: ECOPact represented 33 percent of ready-mix sales in the first nine months, while ECOPlanet accounted for 43 percent of cement sales.

Acquisition expands European offering

Holcim also highlighted its agreement to acquire Fermacell from James Hardie Industries. The European provider of walling and flooring solutions is expected to generate projected 2026 sales of around EUR 430 million. Closing is expected in the first half of 2027, subject to customary conditions and regulatory clearances.

Holcim said it completed 11 transactions in the first nine months, including 10 acquisitions and one divestment. The company expects the Fermacell transaction to broaden its walling, flooring and fire-protection portfolio and strengthen its integrated building-systems offering.
