Holcim completed its acquisition of Burdett Group in Australia on November 5, expanding its aggregates and circular-construction footprint in southeast Melbourne. The company announced the transaction in an official Holcim media release.

The acquired business supplies aggregates, recycled construction and demolition materials, and sand across Victoria. Established in 1972, Burdett serves customers in infrastructure, industry and buildings and brings more than 120 employees into Holcim's operations.

Building a larger circular platform

Holcim said the transaction fits its NextGen Growth 2030 strategy, which focuses on investment in attractive markets. The acquisition is intended to support the group's target of recycling more than 20 million tons of construction demolition materials globally each year by 2030.

The deal also expands the operating base for Holcim's ECOCycle technology. The company says the technology guarantees between 10% and 100% recycled construction demolition materials by total product weight, depending on the product.

Khaled El Dokani, Holcim's Region Head for Asia, Middle East and Africa, described Burdett as a strong strategic fit because of its Melbourne location, raw-material supply and circular-construction expertise. Holcim said Burdett will continue to operate with its local team and existing sites.

Holcim stock traded at 79.37 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 12:12:49 CET on Friday, November 6, 2026. Investors will weigh the strategic contribution of the acquisition against the absence of transaction-financial details in the announcement.
