Henkel raised its full-year outlook on Thursday, October 29, after preliminary third-quarter figures showed broad-based organic growth. In its press release, Henkel said group sales rose 11.0 percent year on year to 5,713 million euros in the third quarter.
Organic sales growth reached 6.5 percent, exceeding the 4.1 percent Vara consensus cited in the company announcement. Price development contributed 5.4 percent at group level, while volumes increased 1.1 percent. The figures exclude the effects of foreign-exchange movements and acquisitions or disposals from the organic measure.
Both divisions support growth
Adhesive Technologies generated sales of 3,027 million euros, up 11.8 percent nominally from the prior-year quarter. Organic growth was 7.9 percent, supported primarily by 7.2 percent pricing and 0.7 percent volume growth.
Consumer Brands delivered sales of 2,643 million euros, a nominal increase of 10.1 percent. Organic growth reached 4.8 percent, with price development of 3.2 percent and volume growth of 1.6 percent. Henkel said growth was supported by its Laundry and Home Care and Hair business areas.
Higher targets, continued cost pressure
Henkel now expects group organic sales growth of 3.0 to 4.0 percent for fiscal 2026, compared with the previous range of 1.5 to 3.5 percent. The company lifted its Adhesive Technologies range to 4.5 to 5.5 percent from 2.0 to 4.0 percent and its Consumer Brands range to 1.5 to 2.5 percent from 0.5 to 2.5 percent.
Adjusted return on sales is expected at around 15 percent for the group. Adjusted earnings per preferred share should increase in the mid-single-digit percentage range at constant exchange rates, replacing the former low- to high-single-digit range. Henkel also expects direct-material prices to rise by around 10 percent from the prior-year average and forecasts restructuring expenses of 200 to 250 million euros.
