Heidelberg Materials reported stronger third-quarter growth on Wednesday, November 4, and maintained its positive outlook for 2026. In its quarterly results release, the building-materials group said revenue increased 10 percent year over year to 6,413 million euros. Result from current operations, or RCO, rose 9 percent to 1,281 million euros.

Quarterly growth beats prior year

The increase followed stronger activity in Europe and continued growth in North America. Heidelberg Materials attributed the result to active cost and price management, productivity gains and recovering demand. The company also highlighted the contribution from acquisitions as it continues to reshape its portfolio.

For the first nine months of 2026, the group reported revenue of 16.99 billion euros, up 4.9 percent from the prior-year period. RCO increased 2.8 percent to 2.53 billion euros. The company said the operating performance in the quarter accelerated a growth trend that had emerged in the second quarter.

Additional savings target extended

Heidelberg Materials expects to exceed the 500 million euro savings target of its Transformation Accelerator Initiative by the end of 2026. The programme will continue through 2028, with an additional 300 million euros of savings planned in roughly equal parts in 2027 and 2028.

Management said the expanded initiative will focus on technical efficiency and structural changes, particularly in Europe. The plan is intended to offset cost inflation and support margins. Persistently weak market conditions in some regions are also prompting a review of the European clinker and cement network.

Guidance remains unchanged

The company continues to forecast 2026 RCO between 3.40 billion and 3.65 billion euros. Return on invested capital is expected to remain slightly above 10 percent. Heidelberg Materials also expects specific net carbon dioxide emissions per tonne of cementitious material to remain near the prior-year level after the first-time consolidation of Akçansa.

Recent portfolio moves add another element to the outlook. Heidelberg Materials signed an agreement on October 7 to acquire NCC Industry's aggregates and asphalt activities in Sweden and Norway. It also completed acquisitions in Australia and Peru on October 1, expanding its quarry, ready-mixed concrete and grinding operations.

The real-time quote of Heidelberg Materials stock was 172.83 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 11:36 CET on Friday, November 6.
