- HDFC Bank's September-quarter net profit rose 4.7 percent year over year, while net interest income increased 9.7 percent.

HDFC Bank stock traded at EUR 20.00 on Lang & Schwarz at 15:39 CET on Friday, October 30, 2026. That was 2.83 percent above the EUR 19.45 quote cited in the company's October 29 report, a move that qualifies as a fresh market development for this second main-value edition.
HDFC Bank's July-September quarter showed strong core banking growth, but a weaker funding mix and lower treasury income limited the earnings advance. Business Standard reported on October 17 that net profit rose 4.7 percent year over year to INR 195.10 billion. Net interest income increased 9.7 percent to INR 346.20 billion.
Deposit Growth Outpaces CASA
Total deposits reached INR 33.27 trillion at September 30, up 18.8 percent from a year earlier. Time deposits expanded 22.8 percent to INR 22.76 trillion, while current-account and savings-account deposits rose 10.8 percent. CASA deposits therefore represented 31.6 percent of total deposits.
That composition matters because time deposits generally carry a higher funding cost than low-cost CASA balances. The bank's net interest margin stood at 3.16 percent of total assets, while management said the margin trajectory should improve from the next quarter as loan repricing takes effect.
New Leadership Sets Next Phase
Anup Bagchi assumed the managing director and chief executive role on October 27 after Sashidhar Jagdishan's tenure ended. Bagchi said the post-merger balance sheet and broader transformation remain works in progress, while preserving credit quality and improving productivity will be central priorities.
For investors, the combination of loan growth and deposit expansion supports business momentum. The faster rise in time deposits and the subdued CASA growth keep funding quality and margin recovery at the center of the HDFC Bank stock outlook.
