Haleon stock faces a tougher growth outlook after weaker respiratory demand and a China supply disruption. Management is backing the business with a further buyback.

Haleon resets its growth outlook

  • Haleon lowered its full-year organic revenue outlook after softer demand in respiratory health and a China regulatory disruption.
  • Strong oral health performance and a further share buyback support the investment case, but execution remains the key issue.
  • The next scheduled full-year results are due in February 2027.

Haleon lowered its 2026 organic revenue growth outlook on October 29 after a weaker-than-expected third quarter. In its official Q3 trading statement, the consumer health group said organic growth reached 2.6 percent in the three months ended September 30, 2026.

Growth slows outside oral health

Haleon now expects full-year organic revenue growth of around 2.5 percent, while maintaining its expectation for high-single-digit adjusted operating profit growth at constant currency. The company cited softer cough, cold and flu consumption, particularly in North America, as well as a raw material classification change affecting Centrum over-the-counter products in China.

The China issue forced Haleon to stop importing the affected Centrum products until further notice. The company said the change was not related to product quality or safety. It generated about GBP 75 million in 2025 revenue from those products.

Oral care remains the bright spot

Oral Health delivered organic growth of 8.8 percent in the quarter, making it Haleon's strongest major category. Respiratory Health declined 2.0 percent organically, while Vitamins, Minerals and Supplements fell 0.5 percent. Europe also contracted organically, whereas emerging markets grew 5.1 percent.

Haleon allocated a further GBP 500 million to share buybacks, with completion planned by the full-year results in February 2027. The capital return provides support for shareholders, but the central investment question remains whether stronger volume growth can restore confidence in the company's medium-term growth ambition.
