Gunvor arbitration risk shadows Pertamina Gas Negara stock outlook

As Kontan reported on October 8, 2026, analysts see operating resilience offsetting the risk from a Gunvor contract dispute and international arbitration.
Gunvor risk meets stronger volumes
According to Kontan, Sucor Sekuritas analyst Giovanus Marcell Lie projects gas distribution volume of 878 BBTUD in fiscal 2026, up 5.00 percent year on year. The same research links the outlook to LNG prices of USD 13.00 per MMBTU and estimates net cash at USD 0.9 billion.
The legal exposure is material but defined. Kontan reports that Gunvor is seeking estimated damages of USD 130.4 million, while a full provision could add USD 58.4 million to PGAS costs. Bahana Sekuritas estimates that core profit could fall 19.30 percent to USD 244.6 million if the charge is fully recognized in 2026.
Cash flow is the counterweight
The counterweight is operating liquidity. The Kontan report projects annual operating cash flow at USD 0.7 billion and says the dispute does not affect recurring gas volumes, distribution tariffs or trading margins. That combination makes the arbitration outcome more important for reported profit and dividends than for the basic gas network operation.
The report also records different analyst targets: Sucor recommends a target of IDR 2,020 per share, while Bahana uses IDR 1,900 per share. Both targets are tied to research dated September 2, 2026 and August 28, 2026, respectively, rather than to a newly announced company result.
Biomethane adds a second growth route
PGN is also expanding its gas platform into biomethane. Investortrust.id reported that a facility in South Sumatra is designed to produce 150,000 MMBTU per year, with PGN serving as offtaker and transporter. The project links existing pipeline infrastructure with lower-carbon industrial fuel demand.
