- Specialty Medicines powered third-quarter growth as vaccine sales declined.
- GSK kept its 2026 guidance and remains focused on pipeline expansion.
- The 2031 sales target remains above 40 billion pounds.
GSK's third-quarter performance was led by specialty medicines, while weaker vaccine demand remained a drag on the pharmaceutical group's portfolio. The company reaffirmed its 2026 outlook in its official results release published on Wednesday, October 28.
GSK reported third-quarter sales of 8.9 billion pounds, up 5 percent at constant exchange rates. Specialty Medicines sales rose 15 percent to 3.9 billion pounds, supported by HIV, respiratory and oncology products. Vaccine sales fell 2 percent to 2.6 billion pounds, with Shingrix and Arexvy both declining.
Pipeline progress remains central
Management expects 2026 turnover growth of 3 to 5 percent, core operating profit growth of 7 to 9 percent and core earnings-per-share growth of 7 to 9 percent. Turnover and operating profit are expected in the upper half of their ranges, while core earnings per share are seen in the lower half.
GSK said it had started 18 late-stage studies during 2026 and plans four more by year-end. The company also launched a Phase III study of an mRNA seasonal influenza vaccine in September, adding a development milestone to the vaccine pipeline as commercial demand for parts of the existing portfolio softens.
