- Greatland Resources generated strong operating cash flow from Telfer during the September quarter.
- Havieron has moved into construction after the required secondary approvals.
- Production is expected to be weighted toward the second half of fiscal 2027.
Greatland Resources started fiscal 2027 with solid operating performance at its Telfer gold-copper operation, while the Havieron development moved into its construction phase. Australian Mining reported on October 26 that Telfer generated AUD 289 million in operating cash flow during the September 2026 quarter and continued to fund investment in both operations.
The company produced 70,131 ounces of gold and 2,927 tonnes of copper during the quarter at an all-in sustaining cost of AUD 2,925 per ounce. Sales reached 71,901 ounces of gold and 2,714 tonnes of copper, generating net revenue of AUD 485 million. Production was below the 79,100 ounces recorded in the June quarter, partly because Telfer underwent a planned 15-day processing-plant shutdown.
Telfer supports the next growth stage
Greatland ended September with AUD 1.31 billion in cash, no drawn debt and total available liquidity of AUD 1.79 billion, according to Australian Mining. Management said the balance sheet provides a platform for Havieron development and continued investment in Telfer.
Havieron, located about 45 kilometres from Telfer in Western Australia, formally entered construction after the required secondary approvals were received. The underground gold-copper project is designed to use Telfer's processing plant and supporting infrastructure. Greatland's feasibility study outlines an initial 17-year mine life with average annual production of approximately 270,000 ounces of gold and 10,000 tonnes of copper.
Guidance remains unchanged
Greatland retained its fiscal 2027 guidance of 260,000 to 300,000 ounces of gold at an all-in sustaining cost of AUD 2,900 to AUD 3,330 per ounce. Output is expected to be modestly weighted toward the second half of the financial year because of open-pit scheduling and the plant shutdown.
The company plans growth capital of AUD 315 million to AUD 335 million at Telfer and AUD 365 million to AUD 435 million at Havieron, alongside AUD 70 million to AUD 80 million for exploration and resource development. For investors, execution of the Havieron build and control of capital spending remain central to the longer-term production case.
