Goldman Sachs targets Samsung Electronics stock at KRW 490,000
Published on 10/02/2026 at 14:21 | Editorial responsibility: Rafael Müller, Editor-in-Chief AD HOC NEWSSamsung Electronics Co. Ltd. (ISIN KR7005930003) faces third-quarter operating profit consensus of KRW 106.94 trillion, while Goldman Sachs reiterated its Buy rating and a KRW 490,000 target on September 18, 2026. The combination puts Samsung's memory earnings and the October 8 preliminary release at the center of the stock story.
Profit expectations reach a new scale
According to Korea JoongAng Daily on October 2, 2026, FnGuide consensus for the July-to-September period calls for KRW 106.94 trillion in operating profit and KRW 200.77 trillion in revenue. The estimates imply that analysts expect Samsung to cross the KRW 100 trillion quarterly operating-profit threshold.
The same report says 13 of 17 analysts tracked by FnGuide placed their estimates below KRW 110 trillion. A stronger won and a planned bonus provision are the main counterweights to the semiconductor upcycle, because Samsung reports earnings in won while much of its chip business is priced in dollars.
Second-quarter figures set the benchmark
Samsung reported KRW 171.5 trillion of revenue and KRW 89.5 trillion of operating profit in the second quarter of 2026, according to ATS View. Operating profit was KRW 57.2 trillion in the first quarter of 2026, so the quarterly result increased by 56.36 percent from the preceding quarter.
The Device Solutions division generated KRW 127.5 trillion of second-quarter revenue and KRW 89.2 trillion of operating profit. That concentration makes memory pricing, high-bandwidth memory execution and foundry losses more important than handset demand for the next earnings reaction.
Analyst target keeps the upside debate open
TechFlow reported that Goldman Sachs based its KRW 490,000 common-share target on a segmented valuation for 2026 and 2027. The report also identified severe deterioration in memory supply and demand, stronger HBM competition and widening foundry losses as downside risks.
Samsung's investor-relations page lists the second-quarter 2026 results and states that September 30, 2026 was the record date for the next quarterly dividend. The company said dividend details would follow an upcoming board meeting, adding a capital-return element to the October earnings setup.
KRX price and market scale
