- Gerresheimer increased quarterly revenue while adjusted EBITDA remained broadly stable.
- Drug-delivery demand led growth, but inventory reductions and weaker glass operations weighed on profitability.
- Management expects a stronger final quarter and plans to complete the Primary Packaging Plastics sale in the first quarter of 2027.
- Final third-quarter and nine-month figures are due in December 2026.
Gerresheimer released preliminary third-quarter and nine-month results on Friday, October 30, showing stronger demand for drug-delivery devices but continued pressure on profitability. The company's official announcement said quarterly revenue rose 8% year over year to 605 million euros.
Revenue growth meets margin pressure
Adjusted EBITDA reached 103 million euros, compared with 106 million euros in the adjusted prior-year quarter. The adjusted EBITDA margin narrowed to 17.1% from 19.0%, while nine-month adjusted EBITDA fell to 272 million euros from 331 million euros. Gerresheimer attributed the decline to inventory reductions and weaker performance in Tubular Glass Europe and Moulded Glass.
Drug delivery leads divisions
Containment & Delivery Systems generated quarterly revenue of 313 million euros and adjusted EBITDA of 77 million euros. The division benefited from higher demand for drug-delivery devices and the ramp-up of expanded production capacity. Primary Injectable Solutions revenue increased to 123 million euros, although adjusted EBITDA declined to 15 million euros. Moulded Glass revenue reached 169 million euros, while adjusted EBITDA dropped to 17 million euros as inventory reductions lowered capacity utilization.
Outlook and investor focus
Gerresheimer expects a stronger fourth quarter with further earnings improvement in line with its guidance. The company is preparing the completion of the Primary Packaging Plastics sale, which it expects to close in the first quarter of 2027, and has identified comprehensive refinancing as another milestone. Final third-quarter and nine-month figures are scheduled for December.
