Gerresheimer stock gains as Q1 2026 cash flow improves

Gerresheimer AG stock gained after preliminary first-quarter 2026 figures showed EUR 524 million in revenue, EUR 66 million in adjusted EBITDA, and free cash flow of minus EUR 32 million. The latest update on August 27, 2026 also pointed to a stronger second half and a portfolio shift toward cash generation.
Cash flow drives the narrative
The numbers set the tone: revenue was EUR 524 million in Q1 2026, up from EUR 519 million in Q1 2025, while adjusted EBITDA slipped to EUR 66 million from EUR 81 million and the margin fell to 12.6 percent from 15.7 percent. Free cash flow improved by EUR 109 million year over year, from minus EUR 141 million to minus EUR 32 million.
That mix matters for investors because Gerresheimer is trading earnings for balance-sheet repair. The company said the period included strict cash management, lower inventory build and selective investment planning, while the announced sale of Centor and Primary Packaging Plastics is meant to support debt reduction.
Analysts keep watching
The stock closed at EUR 26.52 on August 27, 2026 and was shown at EUR 26.53 in pre-open trading on August 28, 2026. In the same market snapshot, the move was 4.41 percent higher on the session, leaving the shares far below the reported 52-week high of EUR 45.24 but well above the 52-week low of EUR 14.83.
On the research side, a JP Morgan call reported by Zonebourse kept a buy view on the shares and left the price target at EUR 46. The same market page showed a consensus average target of EUR 27.05, only 1.98 percent above the latest close.
Business mix matters
Gerresheimer said the new Containment & Delivery Systems division generated EUR 296 million in Q1 2026 revenue, while Primary Injectable Solutions contributed EUR 101 million. Moulded Glass remained weaker at EUR 144 million, with adjusted EBITDA of only EUR 6 million, underscoring how uneven the portfolio still is.
For the product backdrop, the company pointed to drug delivery devices, syringes, vials, inhalers, ampoules, cartridges and on-body devices. That mix helps explain why margin pressure and cash conversion are being watched as closely as sales growth.
Shares stay range-bound
Gerresheimer stock ended the latest Xetra session at EUR 26.52. The shares still trade closer to the bottom of their recent range than the top.
