GE Vernova stock: Slower turbine orders meet Trench expansion

GE Vernova stock faces slower turbine-order growth as demand remains broad across utilities and data centers. The Trench deal adds grid scale.

Power demand meets slower orders

  • GE Vernova expects gas-turbine orders and reservations to keep growing in 2027, but at a slower pace.
  • The company targets a backlog above USD 200 billion before year-end and at least 130 gigawatts of gas equipment under contract.
  • The planned Trench acquisition would expand GE Vernova's high- and medium-voltage grid portfolio.

GE Vernova stock traded at 731.00 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 16:38 CET on Wednesday, November 4, 2026; that was 7.43 percent below the 789.70-euro quote in the latest relevant report published on October 27. The move since that report provides the fresh market signal for this second main update.

Industrial Info Resources, in a report released Wednesday, said GE Vernova expects gas-turbine orders and reservations to remain strong in 2027 even as the pace slows from the exceptional levels of recent years. The company added USD 20 billion to its backlog in the third quarter, taking the total to USD 197 billion.

Demand remains broad

Management expects the companywide backlog to exceed USD 200 billion before year-end and targets at least 130 gigawatts of gas-turbine equipment under contract. Customers have already secured delivery slots extending into 2032, while demand spans about 100 customers in 25 countries. Traditional customers account for roughly 80 percent of that base and data centers for the remaining 20 percent, according to Industrial Info Resources.

The report also cited two production projects: equipment additions at GE Vernova's Greenville, South Carolina, plant and an upgrade to its turbine-remanufacturing facility in Amarillo, Texas. Both projects are expected to be completed before year-end.

Trench broadens grid exposure

GE Vernova plans to spend USD 9 billion to acquire Trench Group from Triton Partners. Trench makes high-voltage grid components and power-transmission systems, and had about USD 5 billion in combined backlog and framework agreements as of September 2026. The transaction is expected to close in late 2027.

For investors, the combination of long-dated turbine demand and a broader grid portfolio supports GE Vernova's exposure to rising electricity-infrastructure spending. The nearer-term focus is on the pace at which reservations convert into orders, production capacity and execution of the Trench integration.
