FTSE 100 closes 0.42 percent higher as softer oil eases gilt pressure

Informa was the strongest FTSE 100 gainer, rising 2.8 percent after announcing plans to buy events organizer Clarion and separate its Taylor & Francis academic publishing division. AstraZeneca rose 2.2 percent after announcing more than USD 1 billion of investment in Massachusetts as part of a broader US investment plan, according to Euronext.
