Fresenius raised its 2026 earnings outlook on Wednesday, November 4, after third-quarter operating results exceeded analyst expectations. Reuters reported that the healthcare group benefited from stronger performances at Fresenius Kabi and Helios.
Fresenius stock traded at 50.82 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 12:00:54 CET on Friday, November 6, 2.02 percent below the Xetra close of Thursday, November 5, at 51.87 euros. The comparison uses the previous Xetra session because the current trading day had not reached the Xetra closing phase.
Q3 results beat expectations
Group EBIT before special items reached 638 million euros in the third quarter, compared with a Vara Research consensus of 618.5 million euros. Kabi generated quarterly EBIT of 391 million euros, slightly above the 388 million euro consensus, while Helios delivered 293 million euros against an expected 277 million euros.
The operating performance gives the company further support as it continues the FutureFresenius transformation. Kabi's expanding biopharma business is becoming increasingly important to the group's strategy, while Helios benefited from efficiency measures and improving profitability in Germany and Spain.
Guidance moves higher
Fresenius now expects its 2026 EBIT margin to exceed 11.5 percent, compared with the previous indication of around 11.5 percent. Constant-currency core earnings per share growth is expected in the upper half of the earlier 10 to 15 percent range. The company kept its organic revenue growth forecast at 4 to 7 percent.
The updated outlook marks the second guidance increase of the year, according to Reuters. It signals that management sees the margin improvement as sufficiently broad-based to support higher earnings expectations, although execution in the operating divisions remains central to the investment case.
Growth remains division-led
The quarter's performance was driven by both major operating divisions rather than by a single business. Kabi's contribution reflects the growing role of biopharma and other growth vectors, while Helios showed that efficiency measures can offset the seasonal pressure that typically affects hospital operations in the third quarter.
For shareholders, the raised targets improve the earnings trajectory but do not remove the need to monitor debt reduction, margin delivery and the development of the growth businesses. Fresenius also announced on November 2 that it had agreed to acquire the remaining 45 percent of mAbxience for total consideration of up to 750 million euros, including a conditional 50 million euro payment.
The real-time quote of Fresenius stock remains the immediate market reference as investors assess whether the stronger outlook can translate into further valuation support.
Broader German equities remain linked to developments in the DAX.
