Ageas (ISIN BE0974264930) was trading at EUR 73.45 at Lang & Schwarz on October 19, 2026, at 10:03 a.m. CEST, down 0.34 percent versus the Xetra close of October 16, 2026 at EUR 73.70. Fitch Ratings affirmed Ageas's Insurer Financial Strength Rating at AA- on October 14, 2026, with a stable outlook.
AA- rating rests on capital strength
Fitch said the rating reflects Ageas's company profile, capitalization and financial performance. The insurer reported a Solvency II ratio of 193 percent at the end of 2025, compared with 183 percent a year earlier, while its financial leverage ratio was 14.4 percent.
The rating also identifies a counter-factor. Ageas held EUR 13.6 billion in Belgian government and official institution bonds at the end of 2025, down from EUR 14.3 billion at the end of 2024. Fitch described the sovereign exposure as high even as the ratio to capital improved from 124 percent to 94 percent.
What does the rating mean for earnings?
Ageas entered the rating update with stronger first-half results. Simply Wall St reported that revenue reached EUR 5.68 billion in the first half of 2026, up 29.00 percent from the first half of 2025, while net income increased 25.00 percent to EUR 846.0 million. Earnings per share rose to EUR 4.29 from EUR 3.66.
The chronology shows the changing investor frame. On August 27, 2026, Ageas reported first-half revenue of EUR 5.68 billion. On October 5, 2026, Markets Insider reported that JPMorgan raised its Ageas target from EUR 70.00 to EUR 80.00. On October 14, 2026, Fitch affirmed the AA- rating.
Stock remains below its yearly high
MarketWatch listed Ageas's 52-week range at EUR 55.85 to EUR 77.05 as of October 16, 2026. The Lang & Schwarz quote places the stock EUR 3.60 below that high, while the rating and earnings figures give investors two separate measures of resilience.
Ageas was trading at EUR 73.45 at Lang & Schwarz on October 19, 2026, at 10:03 a.m. CEST, minus 0.34 percent versus the Xetra close of October 16, 2026 at EUR 73.70. The further course of trading is shown by the continuously updated real-time quote of Ageas stock.
