- Adjusted operating earnings improved from a year earlier, while reported GAAP earnings declined.
- Management linked the quarter to rate recovery, grid investment and operating cost timing.
- Exelon also declared a regular quarterly dividend for common shareholders.
Exelon reported third-quarter 2026 results on October 30, with adjusted operating earnings ahead of expectations, according to Exelon's newsroom.
The real-time quote of Exelon stock was EUR 40.16 on Lang & Schwarz at 10:57 p.m. CET on Tuesday, November 3.
Third-quarter earnings beat expectations
Adjusted non-GAAP operating earnings rose to USD 0.87 per diluted share from USD 0.86 a year earlier. GAAP net income was USD 0.70 per share, down from USD 0.86 in the third quarter of 2025.
Exelon said higher utility earnings reflected distribution and transmission rates at ComEd, BGE and PHI, along with higher allowance for funds used during construction at ComEd and lower contracting costs at BGE. Higher storm costs, interest, depreciation and taxes offset part of those gains.
Guidance and capital priorities
The utility narrowed its full-year 2026 adjusted operating earnings guidance to USD 2.85 to USD 2.91 per share and reaffirmed annualized earnings growth near the upper end of its 5% to 7% range from 2025 through 2029.
Exelon also highlighted regulatory progress, continued grid investment and completed planned debt financings for 2026. Its board declared a regular quarterly dividend of USD 0.42 per share, payable December 15 to shareholders of record as of December 4.
