Evotec stock faces a sharper valuation debate before results

Evotec stock enters the November 5 results date with a split RBC message. The bank remains positive on the shares but now flags speculative risk.

Analyst caution meets November results

  • RBC retained its Outperform rating while sharply reducing its valuation target and adding a speculative-risk warning.
  • Evotec is scheduled to release first-nine-month results and a business update on Thursday, November 5.
  • The company had previously reaffirmed its 2026 revenue and adjusted EBITDA outlook after preliminary figures exceeded market expectations.

RBC Capital Markets has cut its price target for Evotec from 10 euros to 5 euros while retaining an Outperform rating. The assessment, reported by Deutsche Boerse on Friday, October 30, also carried a Speculative Risk designation from RBC analyst Charles Weston.

A positive rating with lower valuation

The move separates RBCs directional view from its valuation assessment. The unchanged Outperform rating indicates that the broker still sees potential in Evotec, while the halved target reflects a materially more cautious estimate of what that potential may be worth. Weston nevertheless expects substantially lower losses in 2027 and significant profitability in 2028, according to the report.

That outlook remains an analyst forecast rather than company guidance. It also comes against a difficult recent operating backdrop. Evotecs second-quarter revenue fell 16.21 percent year over year to 143.48 million euros, while loss per share widened to 0.26 euros from 0.24 euros in the prior-year quarter.

November 5 becomes the next test

Evotec is scheduled to publish its third-quarter and first-nine-month results for 2026 on Thursday, November 5, together with a business update. The webcast and conference call are scheduled to begin at 2:00 pm CET. Investors will be watching whether the final figures confirm the preliminary performance and how management describes the path toward the full-year outlook.

Evotec previously indicated preliminary first-nine-month revenue of 465.0 million euros and adjusted group EBITDA of negative 42.8 million euros. The company reaffirmed its 2026 guidance for revenue of 570 million to 610 million euros and adjusted EBITDA of negative 70 million to negative 105 million euros. The preliminary figures were above market expectations, with the company attributing the difference largely to the timing of consensus estimates.

Evotec stock traded at 2.82 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 11:52 CET on Tuesday, November 3. The quote is available through the real-time quote of Evotec stock.
