- Record annualized gross bookings point to strong demand for data center capacity and connectivity.
- Management raised full-year revenue, adjusted EBITDA and AFFO guidance after the third quarter.
- New connectivity and AI products are intended to support further capacity expansion.
Equinix reported record demand and raised its full-year outlook again after the third quarter ended September 30, 2026. In its October 28 results release, the data center operator reported annualized gross bookings of 533 million US dollars, up 35 percent from a year earlier.
Bookings turn into stronger guidance
Third-quarter revenue rose 11 percent year over year on an as-reported basis to 2.571 billion US dollars. On a normalized and constant-currency basis, revenue increased 12 percent. Monthly recurring revenue grew at a double-digit rate for the fourth consecutive quarter, while interconnection revenue advanced 10 percent.
Adjusted EBITDA reached 1.321 billion US dollars, up 15 percent as reported and 14 percent on a normalized and constant-currency basis. Adjusted funds from operations rose 20 percent as reported to 1.156 billion US dollars. AFFO per diluted share increased 18 percent as reported to 11.64 US dollars, or 12 percent on a normalized basis excluding the benefit of a fee related to the atNorth joint venture.
Net income attributable to common stockholders rose 31 percent to 489 million US dollars, and diluted earnings per share increased 29 percent to 4.93 US dollars. The company said the net income comparison benefited partly from a non-recurring fee connected with its atNorth investment, making the normalized AFFO figures more relevant for assessing recurring operating momentum.
AI demand raises capacity needs
Chief Executive Adaire Fox-Martin said the company was accelerating capacity to meet broad-based demand. Equinix also introduced Fabric One, a connectivity service for distributed cloud, network and AI environments, and announced Equinix Inference Exchange with NVIDIA and Together AI. The company said nearly 40 percent more cabinets were planned for delivery in 2026 than initially expected.
For the fourth quarter, Equinix expects revenue of 2.684 billion to 2.724 billion US dollars and an adjusted EBITDA margin of 49 to 50 percent. For the full year, revenue guidance now stands at 10.325 billion to 10.365 billion US dollars, adjusted EBITDA at 5.290 billion to 5.330 billion US dollars and AFFO at 4.340 billion to 4.380 billion US dollars. The company expects full-year revenue growth of about 12 percent and AFFO per share growth of 11 to 12 percent on a normalized and constant-currency basis.
