ENGIE reported solid operating performance for the first nine months of 2026 on Thursday, November 5, with management pointing to stronger organic growth in the last two quarters. In its 9M 2026 results release, the French energy group said full-year results are now expected at the upper end of its guidance.

EBIT excluding nuclear reached 7.0 billion euros, up 9.7% on a reported basis and 3.3% organically. Organic growth accelerated to 10.9% in the third quarter. ENGIE attributed the performance to operational execution, a contribution from its performance plan and the addition of UK Power Networks, which contributed 452 million euros of EBIT from May through the end of September.

Infrastructure supports operating growth

The infrastructure businesses were a key driver of the period. ENGIE's results release highlighted the contribution of UK Power Networks alongside continued activity in renewables and battery energy storage systems. The group had 60.2 gigawatts of renewable capacity installed and 6.6 gigawatts under construction at the end of September.

Commercial momentum also remained firm. ENGIE signed more than 3 gigawatts of power purchase agreements during the first nine months, while more than 10 gigawatts of storage capacity was either operating or under construction worldwide. The figures support the group's strategy of combining networks, generation, storage and energy supply as power markets undergo structural change.

Guidance moves toward upper end

Management now expects recurring net income attributable to the group to reach the upper end of its 4.9 billion to 5.5 billion euro range for 2026. EBIT excluding nuclear is likewise expected at the upper end of the 9.2 billion to 10.2 billion euro range.

Chief Executive Catherine MacGregor said the results reflected significant organic growth in the last two quarters and the initial contribution from UK Power Networks. She also pointed to disciplined capital deployment, continued renewable and storage development and more than 3 gigawatts of signed PPAs as support for the group's longer-term growth and value-creation plans.

Financial discipline remains an important investor focus. Cash flow from operations reached 7.5 billion euros, while economic net debt stood at 62.5 billion euros. The economic net debt-to-EBITDA ratio was 4.2 times after only five months of UK Power Networks consolidation.

The real-time quote of ENGIE stock showed the stock at 24.01 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 10:05 CET on Thursday, November 5, 2026.

Investors will continue to monitor delivery against the upper end of the annual ranges, the contribution from UK Power Networks and the pace of renewable and storage investment. ENGIE also said the deadline for concluding heads of terms on a potential acquisition of Belgian nuclear activities has been extended to December 12, 2026.

The broader European market will remain an important backdrop for utility valuations and energy-sector risk appetite.
