Elbit Systems will present its unmanned underwater vehicle capabilities for the first time at Euronaval 2026 in Paris from November 3 to 6. The company announced the plan on October 29 in a company release.
The showcase extends Elbit Systems' autonomous maritime offering into the underwater domain. The UUV portfolio includes modular autonomous underwater vehicles for intelligence gathering, mine countermeasures, anti-submarine warfare, seabed mapping and protection of critical maritime infrastructure. The systems can operate for long periods without direct control and carry sonars, intelligence and surveillance equipment and mission-specific sensors.
ISE acquisition adds underwater reach
The capabilities entered Elbit Systems' portfolio through the completed acquisition of International Submarine Engineering on October 20. The Canadian company develops autonomous underwater and remotely operated vehicles, robotics and computer-control systems. Elbit said the purchase price was not material to the group.
ISE has delivered more than 250 underwater vehicles to customers in over 20 countries, according to the acquisition announcement. Elbit plans to show the UUV portfolio alongside its Seagull family of unmanned surface vessels and other naval systems, creating a broader architecture for coordinated surface and underwater missions.
Oren Sabag, general manager of Elbit Systems' ISTAR and EW business, said navies were seeking comprehensive autonomous solutions for complex maritime missions. Elbit's stated strategy combines underwater and surface platforms with communications, payloads, sonars and autonomous mission management. The commercial contribution from ISE was not disclosed, leaving the near-term investor case focused on portfolio breadth and future contract potential rather than a separately quantified earnings effect.
Scale supports strategic context
Elbit reported revenue of 2,287.1 million US dollars for the three months ended June 30, 2026, and an order backlog of 32.0 billion US dollars as of that date. The company said it employs more than 21,000 people across five continents. These figures provide context for the underwater expansion, but the Euronaval announcement does not include a new order, financial forecast or incremental revenue target.
Elbit Systems stock traded at 700.00 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 09:21 CET on Monday, November 2, 2026. For investors, the event offers a near-term test of customer visibility for the expanded naval portfolio, while the financial impact will depend on future awards and integration execution.
