EDP - Energias de Portugal secured Lot 2 in Brazil's transmission auction, adding a new regulated-network project to its operating footprint. CNN Brasil reported the award on October 30, 2026, and said the concession requires an estimated investment of 317 million Brazilian reais.
New regulated network exposure
EDP Transmissão Goiás offered annual permitted revenue of 26.5 million Brazilian reais, 53.29 percent below the regulatory ceiling, according to CNN Brasil. The package includes the Iaciara 2 substation and about 126 kilometers of new lines connecting Goiás and Bahia.
Long lead time for earnings
Commercial operation is scheduled 48 months after the concession agreement is signed, while the concession runs for 30 years. For investors, the award broadens EDP's regulated infrastructure exposure, but the operating contribution lies ahead and depends on construction and commissioning.
