EDP Renovaveis (ISIN ES0127797019) closed at EUR 12.77 on Euronext Lisbon on October 2, 2026, up 1.59 percent from the prior close of EUR 12.57. The session placed the stock 12.95 percent below its 52-week high of EUR 14.67, giving investors a clear measure of the recovery still required.
First half strengthens operating figures
TS2 reports that EDPR's first-half recurring EBITDA rose 8 percent to EUR 1.033 billion in the results presented on July 29, 2026. Recurring net profit increased 33 percent to EUR 183 million, while underlying profit excluding asset-rotation gains stood at EUR 117 million.
The quality of that improvement matters because asset sales remain central to the earnings profile. TS2 says generation rose 4 percent in the first half, while electricity sales fell 2 percent as European power prices and a weaker dollar offset added capacity.
Guidance depends on asset rotation
Management raised 2026 recurring EBITDA guidance to EUR 2.2 billion-2.3 billion, including EUR 300 million from asset-rotation gains, according to TS2. Net debt stood at EUR 8.7 billion at June, compared with EUR 8.1 billion in December, while year-end net-debt guidance remained below EUR 8 billion.
The Brazil transaction is therefore a balance-sheet event as much as a portfolio decision. TS2 reports that the deal covers an installed base of 1.8 GW and is expected to reduce net debt by EUR 1.5 billion once completed.
Analyst target leaves execution test
Finimize reports that Berenberg maintained a Buy rating and a EUR 15 price target for EDP Renovaveis. The target lies 17.46 percent above the October 2 price, but the bank also cut its 2026-2028 EPS estimates because of higher funding costs, asset disposals and currency effects.
That combination sets a demanding checkpoint for the stock: operating growth must translate into lower financing pressure and recurring earnings that do not rely only on asset-rotation gains.
Stock remains below yearly high
EDP Renovaveis traded between EUR 12.59 and EUR 12.92 on October 2, 2026, with volume of 1,019,234 shares. Its market capitalization was EUR 13.5 billion, and the EUR 11.10-14.67 52-week range places the latest price 15.05 percent above the yearly low.
