- German authorities authorized GMP production of Actinium-225 for investigational patient treatments.
- The process combines radium-226 irradiation in the Czech Republic with GMP processing in Braunschweig.
- Capacity plans include a commercial-scale site in China and possible expansion in North America and Germany.
Eckert & Ziegler stock traded at 13.25 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 14:06 CET on Monday, November 2, 2026, 0.38 percent below the Xetra close of Friday, October 30. Compared with the 13.44-euro quote in the October 29 report, the new Lang & Schwarz quote is 1.41 percent lower; that is a separate comparison from the Xetra session move.
According to the EQS News release carried by Placera, Eckert & Ziegler Therapeutics GmbH received the manufacturing authorization on October 28. The wholly owned subsidiary can produce Actinium-225 under Good Manufacturing Practice standards, supporting investigational treatments that use the alpha-emitting radioisotope.
Production route and capacity
The production chain begins with cyclotron-based irradiation of radium-226 at the Czech Academy of Sciences' Nuclear Physics Institute in Rež. Eckert & Ziegler then processes the irradiated material at its Braunschweig site to obtain GMP-grade Actinium-225.
The company said its process keeps long-lived impurities such as Actinium-227 and Thorium-229 to a minimum. It also recovers unconverted radium-226 for reuse across multiple production cycles, which can reduce pressure on constrained precursor supplies and limit radioactive waste.
Dr. Gunnar Mann, the board member responsible for the Medical Segment, described the authorization as a step from initial production runs toward routine GMP manufacturing. The release did not provide revenue guidance or contracted sales volumes, so the commercial impact remains dependent on future clinical and customer programs.
Expansion plans remain ahead
Eckert & Ziegler's Qi Kang Medical Technology joint venture has opened an Ac-225 facility in Jintan, China. The company plans to move toward a commercial-scale second phase after initial operations begin in early 2027. Further expansion near Boston and in Germany remains under consideration.
